Wortley Hall Walled Garden

Working for the community with the community

Visiting Wortley

We welcome visitors to the garden. There is currently no entrance charge. We have interpretation signage around the garden and a guide book produced by the Heritage Project team.

We are open April to October, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 10.30 - 16.00. We are also open some weekends in addition to the posted Open Day Events.
We can also provide guided tours for groups by prior arrangement. Email or phone for details.

Educational Visits.
We can host visits from schools and community groups either for a visit or for activity sessions. A number of schools from the region have visited the garden over recent years, from infant to secondary. Some even come on a regular basis. We have also hosted visits from colleges, and numerous gardening and allotment societies have come for summer evening visits. Email or phone for further details.

Getting to Wortley.
Bus 29 (Sheffield Bus Interchange to Penistone/Denby Dale) stops in Wortley Village. Follow signs from the village.
By cycle or car, Wortley is on the A629, Sheffield to Huddersfield Road.
